Aeons by Roz Barron Abellera. 20×16 Acrylic on canvas.

The word aeon originally means “life” or “being”, though it then tended to mean “age”, “forever” or “for eternity”. It also refers to life or lifespan.

Although the term aeon may be used in reference to a period of a billion years (especially in geology, cosmology or astronomy), its more common usage is for any long, indefinite, period.

This measurement of time is represented in this abstract painting by the criss crossing lines of yellow and white against a black background which represents space.

I did this painting to express the joy of life, being or “lifespan.”
