Bougainvillea vines grow free and wild over here in Flagler Beach. For this painting, I picked the flowers from a vine from right by my house. I stuck it right in a water jug and produced this still life. The rich colors of these vines are what really catches my eye.

The colors indeed look great — nice work! And you’re right, that is a pretty area. I went to FPC high school.

    • Thanks Jeff. I love Flagler Beach. It’s really grown in the last 5 years. When I first got here, there was nothing but a Home Depot and McDonald’s in Palm Coast. Now there’s a shopping center, Olive Garden, Golden Corral and it’s still growing.

I don’t want it to grow too much though. At this stage of my life, I prefer the small-town feel. I’ve already had my share of the big city life.
